Lena Edwards, MD

Dr. Lena Edwards is an internal medicine and functional medicine physician, author, and nationally recognized expert in women’s health and hormones. For nearly three decades, she has helped women untangle the hidden physiologic threads behind weight gain, fatigue, mood changes, and metabolic chaos—long before “integrative medicine” became a buzzword.

A graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, she completed her internal medicine residency and served as Chief Resident at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Dr. Edwards has pursued extensive advanced training in integrative and functional medicine, including endocrinology, stress physiology, anti-aging medicine, and integrative cancer therapy through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.

A former clinical instructor for George Washington University and community faculty member for the University of Kentucky, Dr. Edwards has served on multiple medical advisory boards and editorial review panels, including Integrative Practitioner, Annals of Internal Medicine, and the Journal of Alternative, Complementary, and Integrative Medicine. She has lectured internationally on adrenal and stress physiology, female hormonal transitions, and integrative endocrinology.

She is the founder of The Edwards Edge, a women’s wellness platform and online supplement store where she regularly publishes educational articles on hormones, metabolism, stress, and women’s health. She is also the creator of AdrenaFem®, a targeted supplement designed to support the hormonal and stress-related challenges women face in their 40s and beyond, offered through her company Adrenalogix.

Dr. Edwards is the author of Adrenalogic: Outsmarting Stress and numerous scientific and professional publications on hormonal, metabolic, and stress-related health.
